Recipe of Zlabia

The zelabia or zlabia is a specialty fried of the Maghreb traditional oriental cuisine (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia). Intermediate between a cake and confectionery, it is prepared especially during the month of ramadan (in the same way as Chbakia)


According to the recipes, it contains sugar, flour, honey, cardamom, etc. It is sometimes colored in red. Its form is generally helical. The surface, diving in sugar or honey, is slightly crisp.


A variant of the zlabia called mkharek. Kids love!
