  I have découvers this fruit here in Florida

for the first time, at a festival

   Kumquats are fruit trees of the family

of Rutaceae, originating from China and Malaysia.

Today they are cultivated in the United States more

particularly in South Florida and California.

  The kumquat is a small round or oval fruit

2-5 cm long. Its yellow-orange bark

is edible. Its flesh is subacid.

   It is often cooked integer in compote

or confit. It is also used in pastry

and cooking, incorporated in farce

ou sauces bittersweet.

  It can be eaten fresh, often with bark

which is what gives a flavor more

strong and slightly bitter.
