The Moroccan Middle Atlas is a mountainous massif lying on some 350 km, southwest to the northeast of the Morocco, located between the gir and the High Atlas, and covering a total area of 2.3 million hectares, or 18% of the field altimontain of this country.
He mainly interested in the provinces of Khénifra, Ifrane, Boulemane, Sefrou, El Hajeb, Medilet and part of the provinces of Taza and Beni Mellal - referred to as the "door of the Middle Atlas".
This string is owned by the massif of the Atlas, and specifically, one three elements of the Moroccan Atlas - the other two being the High Atlas and the Anti-Atlas.

Its location in the heart of the Morocco, an area of very high rainfall, the Middle Atlas gives the character of "Water Castle", both of hydrogeological terms to the hydrographic point of view.
